Interrail effect

From 10 September 2026: Interrail One Brand!

To keep in mind for the non-European customers (also known as Eurail travellers).

Focus on Customer impact

It's good to emphasise that the impact for travellers is limited to changes in the name and visual identity, while everything else remains the same. Existing Eurail travellers don't need to make any changes to their plans.

Most important details:

  • Eurail Passes purchased before 10 September 2026 will remain valid according to their terms and conditions.
  • Their Eurail Pass remains valid and they can continue to use it as planned.
  • Any seat reservations or bookings they've already made are valid – no rebooking needed.

Clarity on what changes

Interrail is the same organisation they bought their Pass from.

A bit of history: until now, we used "Eurail" for travellers living outside Europe and "Interrail" for European residents, even though everyone travelled on the same trains and the same rail network.

From 10 September, one name reflects what was already true: one company, one network, one experience.

What exactly changes is just the name and visual identity they interact with:

  • The website and Rail Planner app will show the Interrail name and branding.
  • They will keep planning trips, booking seats, and managing purchases the same way they do today. Same login, same account.

Eurail to Interrail naming transition

  • Will the Pass or its benefits change because of the renaming?
    • No. The Interrail Pass will continue to offer the same travel benefits to customers, globally. This is a brand name unification, not a product change.
  • Will pricing, validity, or terms and conditions be affected?
    • No. The renaming does not impact pricing or product validity, but some changes to the terms and conditions are needed. Our terms and conditions will be updated to make all customers eligible to use an Interrail Pass and to reflect the new company and product names.
    • There are also new conditions to clarify the usage of One Country Passes (especially for the Switzerland Pass, Great Britain Pass, and the new Nordic Pass), please refer to Interrail One Country Pass
  • How will existing Eurail Pass holders be supported?
    • All existing Eurail Passes remain valid for use. Customers will receive clear updates, and all Eurail digital links will redirect automatically to Interrail’s platforms.
  • What happens to materials or tickets carrying the Eurail name?
    • They will be phased out. From 10 September 2026, Eurail Passes will no longer be issued – but those already purchased will remain valid according to their validity period and Terms of Use.
  • Will both European and non-European travellers be able to buy and use the same Pass?
  • Will there be updates to the website, Rail Planner app, or booking process?
    • Yes, all channels will adopt the Interrail brand identity, but functionality will remain the same, ensuring a seamless user experience.
  • How will the renaming improve the overall traveller experience?
    • It simplifies communication and creates a unified, global story and community of travellers. Customers will experience one recognisable brand, one Pass, one community.
