A BritRail Pass allows to travel across the entire National Rail network of Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland) It allows to hop on and off National Rail trains all day long

I. Features

🚆BRITRAIL PASS

  • The BritRail Pass is only valid on the National Rail services including:
    • Heathrow Express, Gatwick Express and Stansted Express
    • Caledonian Sleeper and Night Riviera Sleeper (must book berth prior to travel)
  • First & Standard classes
  • Flexible or Consecutive validities
    • 2, 3, 4, 8, 15, 22 days or 1 month consecutive
    • 2, 3, 4, 8 days within 1 month or 15 days within 2 months
  • Discount available for child, youth, senior
  • Available as M-Pass

🚆BRITRAIL ENGLAND PASS

  • The BritRail England Pass is only valid on the England Rail services, including:
    • Heathrow Express, Gatwick Express and Stansted Express
    • Night Riviera Sleeper (must book berth prior to travel)

Boundaries: Carlisle, Berwick-upon-Tweed, Lydney, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Hereford, Bucknell, Shrewsbury, Chirk, Crewe, Chester, West Kirby.

🚆BRITRAIL SOUTH WEST PASS

  • The BritRail South West Pass is valid on all Great Western Railway and South Western Railway services including:
    • Heathrow Express
    • Night Riviera Sleeper (must book a berth prior to travel)

Boundaries: London Paddington, Marlow, Henley, Reading, Didcot, Oxford, Banbury, Hereford, Gloucester, Bristol Parkway, Cardiff, Swansea, Bristol Temple Meads, Weston-Super-Mare, Barnstaple, Gunnislake, Newquay, St.Ives, Penzance, Falmouth Docks, Looe, Exmouth, Weymouth, Portsmouth Harbour, Basingstoke and Gatwick Airport.

🚆SPIRIT OF SCOTLAND PASS

  • Sprit of Scotland Pass is valid across the National Rail network of Scotland, including:
    • 20% discount on Northlink Ferries services using standard seated fares purchased on the day, for the following journeys: Scrabster – Stromness / Aberdeen – Lerwick / Aberdeen - Kirkwall – Lerwick
    • 20% discount on ferry travel to Northern Ireland on Stena journeys to Belfast

Boundaries: Valid for travel north of Carlisle and Berwick-upon-Tweed

  • BritRail London Pass is valid on the National Rail services in the South East of England, including:
    • the London Overground and Elizabeth Lines.
    • places as far out as Bath, Bristol, Ely, Kings Lynn, Salisbury, Stratford-upon-Avon, Weymouth and Worcester

Boundaries: Valid for travel Harwich, Kings Lynn, Huntingdon, Bedford, Long Buckby, Stratford-upon-Avon, Worcester Foregate, Bedwyn, Salisbury, Bristol Temple Meads and Weymouth (London Plus Pass)

III. Eligible Party

People with a permanent residence outside of the United Kingdom (for more than 6 months) are eligible to purchase or use any of the Britrail passes.

VI. Conditions of use

  • The name on the railpass must match the name on the passport
  • BritRail Passes are not valid within their own boundaries
  • BritRail M-Passes are pre-validated at time of purchase.  They are validated once you have chosen your start date and received the barcode.
  • All BritRail Passes are valid from 00:00 hrs to 23:59 hrs (Midnight to Midnight) on a chosen day of travel. It includes Peak hours as well.

Please note: If a Pass holder is travelling on an overnight train containing sleeper accommodation, the next day’s date must be inserted. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in the payment of a fine and the cost of a full fare ticket

VII. Print at home

  • Britrail M-Pass booked via Rail Portal does NOT require the passport number
  • A link will be sent through email & available in the booking summary to download the M-Pass to your phone. (or a PDF)
  • This link will direct customer to the activation page, where passengers details need to be filled in before being able to download the pass.
  • It is best to download the mobile train pass nearer to the departure date in case the first date of travel changes.
  • Once downloaded, it can simply be presented to any ticket barrier with a barcode reader, or to any member of staff who asks to see it at ticket gates, or on board the train.

VIII. Aftersales

Refundable if a request to cancel an MPass is made to and confirmed by the retailer.

Once the pass has been booked and issued the start date on the pass or card cannot be changed

M-Pass must bear no evidence of having been travelled on.

No refund or exchange can be made at stations in Britain.

No refund can be made on validated Passes once the commencement date has been reached.
