Current disruption
Berlin-Hamburg disruption Aug25-Apr26
The high-speed track Berlin-Hamburg will be closed as of 1AUG and long-distance trains rerouted. 2 consequences: less frequent connections on the route (1x per hour instead of 2x), longer journey time (+45 mins.).
Hourly direct connections between Hamburg and Berlin instead of half hourly.
Travel time will be extended by approximately 45 minutes due to diversions via Salzwedel and Stendal.
ICE connections between Hamburg and Berlin.
ICE lines Hamburg – Berlin – Halle/Leipzig – Erfurt – Munich.
EC line Hamburg – Berlin – Dresden – Prague.
- Two of the four lines between Hamburg and Berlin will be canceled. The remaining ICE trains will be diverted between Hamburg and Berlin.
- This means there will only be one train per hour – compared to the scheduled two – between Hamburg and Berlin.
- The stops in Büchen, Ludwigslust, and Wittenberge will be canceled.
- Trains will also stop in Salzwedel and Stendal, and usually alternate hourly in Lüneburg and Uelzen.
- Travel times will be increased by approximately 45 minutes.
- At the start of the general renovation, a replacement bus service (IC bus) will be established
between Hamburg and Wittenberge, stopping in Ludwigslust.
IC line Warnemünde – Wittenberge – Magdeburg – Leipzig
- Trains will only run on the section between Magdeburg and Leipzig.
- Stops in Warnemünde, Rostock, Bützow, Bad Kleinen, Schwerin, Ludwigslust, Wittenberge, and Stendal will be canceled.

Deutsche Bahn: Strike announcement in Belgium impacting Deutsche Bahn trains from February 22, 2025 to March 2, 2025 (Updated on 21st Feb)
In Belgium, strike action has been announced for the period from February 22, 2025 to March 2, 2025. This will result in restrictions on Deutsche Bahn's international long-distance traffic between Germany and Belgium.
The following long-distance connections are affected:
- On February 21, 2025
ICE 12 Frankfurt (M) - Brussels is cancelled
- On February 22, 2025
ICE 10 Frankfurt (M) - Brussels is cancelled
ICE 12 Frankfurt (M) - Brussels is cancelled
ICE 11 Brussels - Frankfurt (M) is cancelled
ICE 16 cancelled between Cologne and Brussels
ICE 315 cancelled between Brussels and Cologne
- On February 23, 2025
ICE 10 Frankfurt (M) - Brussels is cancelled
ICE 11 Brussels - Frankfurt (M) is cancelled
ICE 16 Frankfurt (M) - Brussels is cancelled
ICE 17 Brussels - Frankfurt (M) is cancelled
