New Trenitalia exchange features

We have released the Trenitalia Route Change feature in ERA. This feature will brings two improvements on Pico exchange operation:

  • Fare change: you will be able to change the journey for a higher comfort class.
  • Route change: you will also be eligible to a route change, in most of the Trenitalia’s booking.

DESCRITION

We offer, for all the eligible Trenitalia tickets, the possibility to change origin and/or destination during the exchange process.

For those tickets you have a new exchange search form with origin and destination fields.

EXCHANGE SEARCH FORM

The origin and destination are pre filled with the value of the original booking.

Only Trenitalia places will be displayed with the auto completion function.

If the fields are displayed they can not be empty , you well get the following message if you try to search offers with empty fields:

Note: If you purchase Trenitalia tickets on a high-speed train, an exchange is not possible on Leonardo Express/Regional train with the same ticket.


ELIGIBILITY

Most of the flexible Trenitalia single trips are eligible to a route change operation.

Round trips are not eligible to the route change operation.

For any item eligible to exchange but not for a route change, the origin and destination fields won’t be displayed on the search form:

OFFERS

Only offers from Trenitalia with same price or more expensive than the original booking will be eligible for an exchange.

If the new journey is not at least as expensive as the original booking, then you won’t get any solution and the usual error message (“no exchange solution found”) will be displayed :
