Italy: delays & disruptions
Timetables in Italy may be revised following traffic disruptions. In case of disruptions, fewer services are operating and some routes are cancelled completely. You can find some details about those cancellations below.
Trenitalia: Florence - Rome line: changes to train circulation due to extraordinary maintenance work from Tuesday 7 January to Tuesday 4 March (Updated on 21st Feb)
From Tuesday 7 January to Tuesday 4 March, due to infrastructure improvement works on the Florence - Rome line, the following changes are planned by Trenitalia. Some Frecciarossa and Frecciargento trains on the Florence - Rome high-speed line are subject to timetable changes with possible journey lengthenings of up to 10 minutes or will not stop at Rome Tiburtina.
Some Frecciarossa trains bound for Fiumicino Airport end their journey at Rome Termini.
Intercity trains on the Milan - Naples/Salerno/Reggio Calabria, Prato - Naples, Rome - Florence/Prato/Trieste Rome - Ancona/San Benedetto del Tronto/Perugia routes and Intercity Notte trains on the Rome - Trieste/Brennero, Turin - Salerno routes are subject to timetable and stop changes.
Some regional trains on the Rome - Florence/Chiusi/Terontola/Orte, Rome - Ancona, Rome - Perugia, Rome - Terni/Foligno, Fiumicino Airport - Orte/Fara Sabina, Florence - Arezzo/Terontola/Foligno, Prato - Chiusi/Arezzo, Vernio - Arezzo routes are subject to timetable or stop changes, route restrictions and do not stop at Rome Termini.
Some regional trains on the Florence - Borgo San Lorenzo - Faenza (via Vaglia), Florence - Borgo San Lorenzo (via Pontassieve) and Arezzo/Montevarchi - Prato/Pistoia routes are subject to timetable changes.
Trains RV 4116, RV 4106, RV 4107, RV 4108, R 18734, R 18744, R 18715, R 18732 and R 18822 are subject to route restrictions, timetable changes, changes to stops and frequency.
From Monday 13 January, trains RV 4116, R 18734 and R 18744 will undergo further changes to their timetable, route and stop changes.

Trenord : Staff strike from 3:00 on Wednesday 5th to 2:00 on Thursday 6th February (Updated on 5th Feb).
From 3:00 on Wednesday 5th to 2:00 on Thursday 6th February, a strike by Trenord staff is underway, proclaimed by the Trade Unions.
Regional and suburban trains in Lombardy and neighbouring regions, the airport connections Milan – Malpensa Airport and Malpensa Airport – Bellinzona and Trenord long-distance trains may be subject to changes.
The guaranteed time slots are from 6:00 to 9:00 and from 18:00 to 21:00.
To ensure the connection with the airport, in case of train cancellations, a bus service without intermediate stops will be set up between Milan Cadorna (via Paleocapa, 1) and Malpensa Airport and between Stabio and Malpensa Airport.
Trenitalia regional trains on the Milan - Domodossola route may also be subject to changes.

TI Strike | January 25th-26th, 2025 ( Updated on 24th Jan )
We wish to inform you of a strike scheduled from 9:00 p.m. of Saturday January 25th to 8:59 p.m. of Sunday January 26th 2025, which may lead to train disruptions and cancellations.
Services before and after the strike may also be affected.

Refunds
Customers can request a full refund due to the strike exclusively via the WebForm:
- Before Departure: valid for any train
- Frecce and Intercity/Intercity Notte trains: from the official announcement until train departure
- Regional trains: from the official announcement until 12 p.m. on the day before strike
- After Departure: only for canceled trains
- Refunds can be requested within 12 months of the departure date.
