Interrail One Country Mobile Passes

The Interrail One Country Pass is the best choice to explore in deep a single European country for a set number of days. With a One Country Pass travellers will discover great country's hidden spots, and enjoy a true nature, historical and cultural places.

The passes are valid for 3, 4, 5, 6 or 8 days within one month.

I. Features

• Unlimited train travel on the national rail network of the country covered.
• Interrail One Country Passes available*: Austria, Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg), Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Greek Island, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Türkiye, United Kingdom and Nordic (Finland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden). 

* The Interrail Latvia Pass is currently unavailable as it is only available as paper Passes

Passes criterias:

• First and Second class
• Flexi Passes for more flexibility: validities 3, 4, 5, 6, or 8 days within a 1-month
  • Exceptions on the following One Country Passes:
    • France offers the following validities: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 days in a 1-month period in both First and Second class
    • Germany offers the following validities: 3, 4, 5, 7, 10 or 15 days in a 1-month period in both First and Second class. No senior validity. It also offers Twin validities (next to come)
    • Norway is only available in Second class
    • Greek Islands Pass offers the following validities:
      • 4 days within 1 month, travel within Greece & the islands (2nd class only)
      • 6 days within 1 month, travel within Greece (4 days), Italy (2 days) & the islands
• Travel days may be used at any point during the validity period
• Child, Youth, Adult and Senior passenger's types:
  • Child Pass - available for travellers aged 0 to 11 years old, see all details below
  • Youth Pass (20% discount) - available for travellers aged 12 to 27 years old
  • Adult Pass - available for travellers aged 28 to 59 years, but available to be used by any traveller of any age.
  • Senior Pass (10% discount) - available for travellers 60 and older
  • Exception: There is no Senior category for the German Rail Pass
• Age must fit within the age category of traveller's Pass on the start date of the Validity Period, unless an exception applies. If the passenger's age changes from one age category to another during the Validity Period, passenger may continue to use the Pass for the remainder of the Validity Period. Passenger may only prove his/her age by presenting a valid passport or legal equivalent.

II. Child rules

• Children aged between 4 and 11 travel for free with a Child Pass.

1. A child must be accompanied at all times by at least one person with an Adult a Youth or a Senior Pass. The Adult, Youth or Senior does not have to be a family member.
2. Up to two children can travel when accompagnied. For example, when two adults are traveling, they can take four children with them. If more than two accompgnied children are traveling, a separate Youth Pass needs to be purchased for the additional children.
3. A Child Pass must have an identical Pass validity as the accompanying Adult, Youth or Senior Pass (same Pass type, class, number of travel days, and overall validity). In general, the country of residence of the adult, youth or senior and child will be equal. However, in case the child has a different country or residence than the adult, youth or senior; the country of the Adult, youth or senior must be entered when issuing the Child Pass.

• Children under 4 travel for free and do not need a Pass. The child under 4 is not entitled to a seat and during busy times the child may be required to sit on the accompanying adult’s lap. If a separate accommodation is required for a child under 4, a Child Pass must be purchased and counts towards the adult/child ratio listed above for the free child Pass

III. Eligible party

• Any traveler is eligible to travel with an Interrail One Country Pass, independently from his/her residency.
• Reminder for European travelers: the Interrail One Country Pass is not valid in the passenger's country of residence matching the select One Country Pass.

Important:  

Interrail One Country Great Britain & Interrail One country  Switzerland Passes are not eligible to non-European travelers.

• Proof of citizenship can be established by a passport/identity card (not a copy). Proof of residence can be established by a government issued residency document provided that its validity period covers the duration/validity of the Pass.
• Exception: The condition that a passenger cannot use an Interrail One Country Pass for his/her own country of residence does not apply to the Greek Island Pass. It does not apply either to the Benelux Pass (Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg) or the Nordic Pass (Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden) except for travel within the traveler residence.
• For the time being, no passes can be sold, nor used by the resident of any of the following countries:  Cuba, Ghana, Iran, Korea, Democratic People's Republic of, Sudan and Syria

• Benefits Rule: Travel benefits may necessitate usage of a travel day.
• Interrail Pass holders are entitled to special Pass holder fares on select trains. Children aged 4-11 who are traveling on a free Child Pass still need to purchase a Pass holder fare on these trains.
• Holders of a Interrail One Country Pass are NOT eligible for a Pass holder fare on Eurostar

Remarks:

• At the moment there are no extra pass benefits for Interrail pass holders in the following countries: Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Montenegro and Poland. 
• Please note that Interrail Passes are NOT valid on the Postbus lines in Switzerland.

Pass holders can travel for free on IC Bus connections, if your Pass is valid in all the countries you are travelling in. Please note: when reservations are required, and you may need to pay a reservation fee.

Please make sure you have a valid Pass for all the countries the bus travels through, otherwise you will need to pay for a ticket for any additional countries.

A Global Pass holder only needs to make a reservation (and pay the reservation fee).

VI. Conditions of use

• A mobile Pass is a paperless ticket that can be added instantly to your phone
• Travel can take place up to 11 months from the purchase date
• No need to choose a start date until the moment passenger is ready to travel
• Instant delivery – add it straight to the Rail Planner app (minimal requirements are: Android 6.0 / iOS 16.0)

Important:

• The name on the Interrail Pass needs to match the name on the passport
• Passes must be activated within 11 months of date of purchase
• Passes must be activated prior to first train journey / first use of bonus
• To activate the Pass the first travel/benefits date must be entered on the Rail Planner; Pass is activated from that date.
• Flexi Pass: the date of travel has to be entered on the Rail Planner application before boarding the train/ship, by the traveller. On a night train, the date of departure is entered in the calendar box. Travel after midnight still counts as day of departure, provided there is no change of trains
• For security reason, traveler's Interrail App must be online within the previous 24 hours of a trip to ensure the journey remains active. Otherwise ticket is inactive, and not valid for travel.
• To reactivate the Pass from ‘inactive’ status, traveler need to open the Rail Planner application next time the mobile device is connected to the internet. the Pass will then be automatically reactivated.
• It is mandatory for the customers to travel with a traveller’s guide

• Step 1: Go to a gate with ‘scan ticket’ sign.
• Step 2: Hold the square barcode against the illuminated area.
• Step 3: The gate will open and you can now leave or enter the platform.

VII. Reservations and Supplements

• Reservations are not included in the price of Interrail Passes and are to be paid separately & prior to boarding the train.  Reservation can be made either through Rail Europe where possible - all details here, or at the station ticket counter. 
• Most high-speed trains and night trains require a seat reservation. Examples of trains with a mandatory seat reservation: Eurostar, TGV INOUI, Lyria, AVE, Frecciarossa, European Sleeper... etc. 

Note: In Poland, EIP (Express Inter City) trains on the following routes require a supplement of approximately PLN 43 / EUR 10 paid in local currency. If the traveller has a reservation, this supplement can be paid onboard the train. If the traveller does not have a reservation, which is compulsory, they can make one at a PKP ticket office and pay the reservation and supplement at the same time. 

VIII. Aftersales

A 100% refund applies to totally unused and non-activated passes.

Request MUST be submitted before the last possible activation date indicated on the mobile Pass.

Pass is considered activated if the first and consequently, last day of validity is defined.
